Allied Members are not Architects, but are professionals in related fields, who collaborate with and support Architects in the creation of the built environment.

Along with the Board of Directors and Staff, many of the Chapter’s advocacy efforts, educational programs, special events, and major initiatives are generated and cultivated via our numerous committees. Participation on a committee is one of the most direct ways to become familiar with how the Chapter operates and to directly influence the local architecture and design community. Committee management roles also help to train members for future board leadership positions. Both members and non-members are welcome to participate on committees.

Some of the most common AIAIC committees include:

Academy of Emerging Professionals; Advocacy; Architecture for Education, Awards Committee; Building Codes; Committee on the Environment (COTE); Historic Resources & Preservation; Communications; Membership; Procedures and Documents; Practice
