The American Institute of Architects (AIA) www.aia.org has served as the leading voice for architecture professionals since its founding in 1857 and continues to be the most prominent membership organization for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners. With the national association based in Washington, DC, the AIA is also able to meet the needs of its members at the state and local level via nearly 300 chapters both domestically and abroad .The mission of AIA is to serve as a resource for its members, allied professionals, and the general public through advocacy, community, education, and outreach.

The American Institute of Architects Inland California (AIAIC) chapter provides architects, emerging professionals, allied partners, students, and the public with meaningful opportunities to connect, learn, and grow within the design and building community. Beyond the national benefits of AIA membership, AIAIC offers accessible continuing education programs for California license renewal, including low-cost accessibility seminars and ZNCD training, leadership and networking opportunities, ARE study support for Associate members, and collaborative programs with industry organizations and professionals. The chapter actively promotes its member firms through its online directory, social media engagement, public design award showcases, and installations in prominent community venues.

AIA Inland California is also deeply committed to supporting the next generation of architects through its annual scholarship programs. Each year, the chapter awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to architecture and design students attending colleges and universities throughout the Inland California region, helping to remove financial barriers and encourage future leaders in the profession. Through student scholarships, the Student Design Awards, mentorship opportunities, and engagement with AIAS chapters, AIAIC invests in the future of architecture while strengthening connections between students and practicing professionals.

Through signature programs such as the Clare Henry Day, FAIA Biennial Design Awards, the Student Design Awards, and the Bob Kain Memorial AIAIC Golf Classic, AIAIC celebrates design excellence, raises funds for student scholarships, and fosters relationships that strengthen the profession and enhance the built environment. As a smaller chapter, AIAIC offers a uniquely personal and engaged experience, creating greater opportunities for involvement, visibility, leadership, and meaningful impact within the architectural community.

Like any professional organization, if you choose to be involved then you will benefit both personally and professionally. When our members are asked why they continue their membership year after year, we hear these words most often: Approachable, Open to New Ideas, Innovative Programs, a Sense of Community, and Fun!
